The GOP now calls retirement benefits a "ponzi scheme." This makes sense, considering Republicans want to pull a Bernie Madoff and leave those who invested their whole lives with NOTHING. #seniors #seniorcare #elderlycare #medicare #medicaid #politics #uspol #uspolitics #republicans #gop #gqp

@stopgopfox Which one of these old white men, Johnson or Scott, stole money from Medicare. One of them did. Best ponzu scheme ever. Do they have any resolution? Besides ending this and giving the money to private world. Who will NOT increase salaries.

@stopgopfox Says the millionaire who has milked his position for every tax break possible and spread lies for Russia. How is this guy allowed to walk free? "Johnsonâs net worth has risen from roughly $23.76 million in 2011 to about $48.03 million in 2020. Over that time period, Johnson has worked to save his biggest billionaire backers hundreds of millions in tax breaks, all while he âpersonally benefited from [the] tax change he sought.âhttps://www.wispolitics.com/2022/american-bridge-ron-johnson-sad-hes-only-doubled-his-wealth-as-senator

@stopgopfox If he ever bothered to read the Actuarial Report that the SSA publishes every year, he might get a clue as to how it really works. But that would destroy the narrative.

@stopgopfox Sunseting means stop the program from going further. Existing entitlements will be paid, albeit based on how much the program already has.

@stopgopfox The reason #SocialSecurity is seen as a #PonziScheme is because #Republicans want to loot it at every opportunity and leave nothing for my generation. The same reason we can't own houses.

@stopgopfoxBy law the Social Security program takes money from workers, immediately hands it to other workers, and deposits the rest in the Treasury where itâs immediately spent on other programs.Assuming the workers are considered investors, that pretty clearly meets the definition of a Ponzi scheme.

@stopgopfox It's actually trueA Ponzi scheme works by taking money from new investors (working people) in order to pay previous investors (retirees), and the new investors are promised future payouts that won't materialize because the whole thing is going to run out of money by the time they're supposed to be paidThe difference is that Social Security is guaranteed by the government, so they will actually pay, even when they'll run out of money
