       Looking on the 2nd hand markets, I can see that many #Mac owners have extremely high hopes for the resale value of their computers.Yes, Mac OS is preferable to Windows in several cases, but... 300-400 € for a ten year old computer which on the PC side would fetch at best 1/3 of that at comparable specs and condition ?🤣

       @frankreiff Yeah, the depreciation checks out in the case of laptops, though in this case I'm looking at Mac Minis. But even in the case of laptops, I'd say its overpriced because the other end of the bathub curves becomes a real thing when nearing 10 years, and at that timespan you're facing a noticable likelyhood that a random component says adíos, at which point you can maybe save it with the help of an electronics mechanic, and that'll set you back a hundred bucks, best case.Thinking it over, the Macs I've had over the past twenty years do tend to drop off with a median age of just around those 10 years (of semi-regular use combined with good care), actually.
