@Humpleupagus @ringo Most Christians talk about God as "the Father", hence framing him as male energy, in fact there is no female counterpart in their conception of trinity (father-son-holy spirit), which IMO is a very red flag and and something they have been carrying from Jewish patriarchal tradition. Female energy is actually considered "demonic", as related to Nature, the moon, etc.

I get that God is viewed as masculine, but I don't see anything in the word itself that makes it gendered. It doesn't end in an "o" not is it proceeded by El in English. If "God" the word is gendered, then so are the names Tracy or Terry. A tranny MtF couldn't call themselves John even if they wanted to under the same theory, because John is male.

I think you're confusing the word "God" with the gender of a particular God. Terry and Tracy could be male, or they could be female, names. Which it is depends on the person being referenced.

But that's a specific God. Not the word itself. I believe they're discussing changing the word, not the being it represents, so I don't get it. The word is not gendered any more than the name Terry without a reference is. If Terry means Terry Bradshaw, then it's male, if it means Terry Garr, then it's female.
