       @meso That one makes the least sense to me. That pipeline was an effective deterrent to German escalation, even shut down. It costs more to rebuild a pipeline than it does to re-start a pipeline, and while both suck, one sucks quite a lot more.

       @meso for the sake of argument though, if I thought higher of those advising Putin I'd put stock in the argument that blowing the pipeline was part of a long-term plan to drive Europe to expend its already limited and self-regulated resources; cut off the umbilical and see them flop around.
