@KayVay Some jagoff got in my face about it again today. Once someone called my office at the time over a tweet, I was done. Lots of people have very valid things to say on social media without everyone needing to compromise themselves.

@TonyStark And besides, who the heck appointed that person king or queen of social media?!When perfect strangers on social media no less try to tell me what I should or shouldn’t do, it’s an automatic block from me. Something I’m highly allergic to. My kids and my husband can (try to) do that within reason and that’s about it. 🤷♀️

@TonyStark It's like people don't understand that Mastodon isn't here to make money for anyone.We have a Patreon, Ko-fi, Paypal, etc. so that Tony isn't paying for all of it himself. I don't know what percentage Tony pays for vs. what he gets from the 15 or so of us who make monthly donations or who gives how much other than what I do. I am glad those on our instance do help out, and the people from other instances who have made donations to ours are especially great. No one needs to know anyone's real name, where we live, what our jobs are, who our families are, etc. If we want to say any of that because it's relevant or we want to share, that's fine. Otherwise, we don't owe the internet anything. Appreciate what we write or mute/block us. We don't care.@AgentCarter_SSR

@TonyStark I've often seen people try to justify the idea that everyone online should always have to use their real identity. They always claim things like "it will stop trolling" or "it will make people behave more responsibly". Both counts are provably false, just look at all the people that _do_ use their real names online... And also how people behave offline...But what that would do, is endanger many innocent people, reduce freedom of expression, cripple online activism, etc, etc.Dicks are always willing to be dicks. But at least with anonymity, those dicks can't track down the rest of us.
