The French government seems to believe that because they were elected, they have the right to do whatever they want, even against the will of the majority. That’s a gross misunderstanding of the democratic process. They were elected to represent the people, not to force decisions on them. When so many people are unhappy with a proposed law, it should not be forced. It is the right of the people to refuse changes, necessary or not, even if it means bad news in the future.

@thelinuxEXP Hey Nick, speaking about politics and stuff, I was wondering if you were planning to make a video about how FOSS and Linux are used in public administrations around the world, what is the current status and is it a positive or negative trend. 👍

On top of that, it’s willfully ignoring WHY they were elected: to bar the way for far right extremist parties. They were not elected on the merits of their program, they were elected so other wouldn’t be. It doesn’t give them legitimacy to pass laws the people are opposed to.They even took the biggest defeat at our parliamentary elections since the 80s. Not accepting that is wrong. They don’t have an unlimited mandate to do things. They’re here to serve, not to impose.

@thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social You can try to ask @EC_OSPO@social.network.europa.eu , maybe they have some useful information. Don't get high hope tho with the fedi account, I don't think that account is "interactive", but on the EC EU site potentially they have other contact info.
