       @Rasp@raru.re Dang... yeah, that sounds rough lolIDK, I've had conflict (sometimes imagined ones) that pushed my anxiety to the point were my full body felt like it was on fire, so I can kind of relate to this lol

       I mean, the analogy kinda fails. If it was as simple as pulling you out of the water, most decent people would. But with mental health,  attempts to comfort often feel short lived and never enough.There’s a term called moral licensing where if you do something good (give $10 to some homeless person), you might use it as a license do to something [relatively] not good (bail on a friend, or maybe just buy an ice cream when you’re trying to eat healthy).Individuals can only do so much, and there’s a sort of emphatic licensing .. and if you take too much from a friend, it can lead to emphatic fatigue.It’s one of the reasons the church is so compelling, because there is this idea that Jesus or God or whatever, can never run out of that support. But if God truly is just in peoples’ heads, people of faith actually pull themselves up, often by their own bootstraps, but attribute it to some higher power.Love in the divine sense is infinite, and that’s an unachievable, unrealistic and impossible ideal. But we hold it in that high regard as an excellence to which we aspire to; what we have to believe our gods are capable of. In reality, for human beings, love is a finite resource.
