Mike Pence: ‘We’ve got to have a conversation’ about reforming Social Security. Saying that 70% of government spending is on entitlement programs, Pence asserted, “And the truth is we’ve got to have a conversation.” The vast majority of voter would disagree that a discussion is necessary regarding SS—especially considering that the source of the money is the recipients and their employers. He would not hesitate to use Evangelical “principles” to justify fascist ideology and every whacko crazy thing the GOP has been proposing. @chemoelectric @sugarcheri @DemocracyMatters Barry , we all know these fakes are only using the religious right to climb to the top. Their cash is plentiful and matched with their stupidity. There is nothing that Pence or Pompeo does that is holy, or in Love of their fellow man. They push for tax exempt status and that's all the church crowd wants..Money moves their sick agenda against women.

@GatekeepKen @chemoelectric @DemocracyMatters Church crowd is also emboldened now that they've finally found a party that supports them in their quest to ban abortions, "save babies" and own "out of control" "sinful" and "criminal" libs -- all in the name of Jesus <eyeroll>. R voters were born w authoritarian ideals. The party of fascism appeals to those ideals. They're ignorant in their alignment w the devil but ignorance and lack of critical thinking has always been democracy's Achilles heel.

@sugarcheri @GatekeepKen @chemoelectric @DemocracyMatters Agreed, but with Christianity, no matter your interpretation, how can you believe in democracy but worship a king. I regularly scold my "good" Christians friends for the absurdity of the interpretation argument and it making it safe for fanaticism. But no, I'm the atheist, so I'm the real danger. They actually think they are worthy of conversion to atheism when I could care less what they believe.

@lednabm Canada is a democracy with a king.Of course, Canadians do not WORSHIP KIng Charles of Canada. They simply regard him as the Head of State of their nation.So the problem with Christianity here, as I see it, is their view of monarchy is outdated!Judaism has the same problem. I haven’t the vaguest clue why any of my fellow Jews actually BELIEVES our silly religion.(The laws and proverbs and lessons and such are not always silly, however. Jonah, for instance, is a good lesson.)

@chemoelectric Fair points, but it's a title only in Canada. To many people, the abrahamic god is their literal king who makes all decisions anyway, democracy or not.

@lednabm As I say, THAT problem exists also in Judaism. It’s part of why there are so many outright wicked Jews. They think they are favored of our supposed King, and everyone else is garbage.
