I got so good over the course of the years that I can now beat every single level of Dream Forest in Rayman 1 without losing a single live. And there are a few screens that are actually challenging (yes, we used to call them "screens" back in the days).

I didn't even use the photographer in any of the levels.

@enigmatico@mk.absturztau.be So I guess that is where the celeste terminology came from...

@junho8@indulgent.art Well, I don't know anything about Celeste but I do know that some very old games used to load levels in sections that were rendered in the whole screen, thus why calling them "screens". This isn't the case for Rayman specifically, which does scroll through the level, but we also used to call different sections of the levels "screens" anyways since, after all, that's what is displayed on the screen.

@enigmatico@mk.absturztau.be In celeste, every chapter is made up of multiple rooms, and each room is often called a 'screen.' I am pretty sure all the rooms in a level are already loaded up, it's just how all the platforming sections are separated. Since when you die, you just go back to the start of the screen. With no actual game over.
