       Sometimes the "white people no spicy" jokes get under my skin and then I remember that my grandma's favorite meal was "beef and potatoes" with absolutely no seasonings and her favorite drink was "milk" so honestly yeah maybe the jokes have a point

       @oloigheruosne I'm meditating on my white friends and their spice tolerance and it definitely correlates with how much time they spend in diverse cities, so maybe generational plus urbanity 🤔

       @lamasoo @oloigheruosne the complete absence of anything spicy in Spain has been shocking. Europeans do NOT eat spicy food, so it makes sense that "white people" would have that reputation. ffs even the immigrant food here is completely nerfed. i've had people assure me that "Americans like really spicy food" which is pretty funny because i thought i was kind of a baby about it.
