Ughh, can't wait to move to a place where it's just warm 🥵 I can't stand 80% of the year being cold 🥶 I know it's very mild here in the Netherlands but it's so often just 'gray' with clouds, wind, rain and brr I'm soo much happier in summer in general so why not move to a place where that's the default :thinktink: We can also go on 'vacation' in the Netherlands later right :bloblaugh:

@stux If I could afford it I would've relocated overseas ages ago, but whilst a lot of things would be cheaper, a lot of things would be more expensive...

@stux same. I had to turn 46 to recognize that it's the lack of contrast is what bothers me the most. No sun, no shadows, no contrast. For weeks and months now (apart from those measly few minutes now and then)

@stux kinda depends...Certainly noone made me an attractive offer to consider - yet...But I'd think about it if there would be any feasible option...Sadly places with the nice climate are usually not that well equipped in terms of infrastructure, but then again I know people who until 8 years ago lived in #EDGEland on #56k modem speeds!

@stux in Portugal you have 300 days of sun per year. Also we have very cool conditions for digital nomads.The only downside (weather related) is the ocean cold water

@stux the only issue is the warm places are getting much warmer. When I first ended up accidentally in Florida it was kinda awful in summer. Now it’s disgustingly too hot from April to November

@stux I prefer cold over heat. But I hate the short days and overcast skies in Belgium in winter. I should live in Sweden in Summer and somewhere else in winter where the days stay long.

@stux 60F and sunny in Arizona at 3k feet...same in summer at 8k feet, 2 hours apart. Saguaros now, Ponderosa pines in summer.300+ sunny days per year.New Mexico also, or Mexico with your EU passport. Try San Miguel de Allende or perhaps Baja.Just add water. Always Be Drinking water.

@stux You are so much happier in the summer because you have a winter to compare it to. Trust me. I have lived in Australia and the Middle East. Although I could do with a slightly shorter winter - the fact that there are 4 seasons is fantastic! When it is snowy and grey, I appreciate that spring and summer will be here soon. And you don't even have 6 hours or less of daylight in your winter! Mind you, 1-2 hours of dark dark in summer (southern Norway) is pretty good too!
