       @fishsticks But that requires that you either have skills at image editing software or the money to pay someone else with those skills to make that, which is a lot less accessible than having a free program that you can toss a short script into to generate that sort of thing with little to no skill on the user's part beyond tweaking settings

       @WoodshopHandman That's fair. As much as I dislike the smut aspect of this tech, I can't help but protest any sort of banning of it for the exact same reason as 3d printers, except that information warfare is much more valuable than being able to print parts for a gun. Genuinely surprised there isn't a team of our guys pumping out convincing political content yet. All the tech needed for it is already out in the public. And you only need a small team of people to make it really convincing. Guess it really shouldn't surprise me with the lack of anything real happening though

       @WoodshopHandman @fishsticks I think people, over time, are going to stop automatically believing that every video they see is real footage. That will severely reduce the power of deepfake porn, and even porn in general.
