#Bitcoin's hypothetical censorship-resistance is not based on some mere hope miners won't censor. Miners are not expected to mine things they don't want to.It's based on the assumption that mining is decentralised, and what one miner turns down will get mined by someone else.

In the worst case scenario, the directly interested parties to the transaction are expected to be able to mine it themselves. At the end of the day, only true spam will fail to get mined, because everyone will refuse to mine it.

These assumptions about mining decentralisation fell years ago. The community chose not to address them. That's acceptable, but we have lost censorship-resistance as a result.Pretending we have it when we don't, such as by enabling actual spam attacks, does not fix anything.

@lukedashjr Outside blockchain, SPAM is profitable to the people who send it.Inside blockchain SPAM is profitable to the people who mine it.I don't see any reason why a miner wouldn't want to mine SPAM. If someone is willing to pay for it then why turn that opportunity down?
