@DrFell @cully45 @SkatyG heres the description from when i got it:An heirloom grade classic Samurai Katana (with Bo-Hi to decrease weight and improve handling) forged from folded 1095/1080/1060 carbon steel. The blade is differentially clay-tempered to harden the edge will retaining a softer spine to increase resistance to shock. This blade is given our Daimyo hand-polish, taking over 40 hours on Japanese natural stones to provide a mirror finish that provides insight into the Hada

@DrFell @cully45 @SkatyG any tips for sharpening? i have a worksharp triangle, and two worksharp handhelds. but it doesnt really seem as easy to sharpen as a regular knife. ive just kinda ran it down one side in sections and tried to match the sensation, in passes about 6" long a few times, move down, move down then flip it.probaly not the best way..

@DrFell @SkatyG this is my favorite.its such a well balanced knife. really feels solid in the hand.plus you could probably just kludgel with the top, but i wouldn want to get any zombie on me.as far as sharpening goes yeah ive considered that. i had a bad experience taking a straight razor to a knife sharpener, he destroyed it on a grinding wheel, and then offered to sharpen my benchmade mcHenry Williams 710 axis, which i no longer have, and ruined that too..

@ringo My favorite portable is a Parker (see picture). I'm probably on my 4th or 5th one now. The cap wears out, not the pen itself. I use the smallest calligraphy nib most of the time. It comes with a bladder cartridge so I can use my bottled ink but the cartridges are perfect for a portable. I have many pens and nibs leftover from my calligraphy days. @cully45

@SkatyG @ringo Well done! I need to look at the keys as I type, hence going from handwritten for my books into the computer, the bane of my existence๐

@cully45 @SkatyG no thats pretty normal us older folks have to do things the traditional way..there's no sense in fiddlign with a program and getting so discouraged nothing gets done until you slog through the help manual for several weeks

@cully45 @SkatyG if i looked at the keys i'd never get anything done. try the cardboard thing.. it helps a lot.asdf jkl; :)index fingers lock onto f and j.the other fingrs get used to being spread out on the other keys. :)
