       This may peeve people—but you don’t need an app to move to Mastodon from Twitter.Just….move. Close your T account, and leave. And start over. I loved being at T. I miss many of the accounts I followed, but I’m not there now. Didn’t scrape (or whatever it’s called). I started from zero.

       @maureenogle yeah, the great majority of people I am following here on mastodon (and being followed by) are different from the cohort at Twitter. It’s a new environment, which is part of what makes it fun!

       @clive @maureenogle I’m an erstwhile raconteur, dad joke maker, but also a creator of words and stuff I sell directly. So I needed to help bring my audience over here for that reason!

       @clive I gotta say that as an intellectual and psychological exercise, it was 100% worth it. Eg, QTs. I was a maniacal user over there. After 3 weeks here, I was, like, you know, I don’t want QT! Also, starting over forced me to think about why and how I use social media. I only used T (occasionally FB), and it was a mental jolt.
