@KentNelson Great ideas, but it's far too late for the south and it's redneck cousins. This has been a goal for 60 years. A white nationalist christo-state or a new confederacy if you will. It's going to be a really bad next deccade in the former US.

@GeorgeCarlinWasRight I do agree that it's a difficult road, but I also believe in never giving up. A little discussed fact is that Texas mostly voted Democrat for over 100 years prior to 1976.

@KentNelson But the state legislatures are essentially 80% white and deeply far right red. The state courts are trashed with the same people. Again, this has taken a long time, it will take another 60 for it to get any better. People of color and women will have no rights in these states, voting in particular, which was the goal.

It's why they were so desperate to gerrymander districts. It's key that PoC & women disperse through these GOP districts to dilute the white supremacist vote. Bring the light of democracy back to these iron-curtain captive populations.It's why disenfranchising women, PoC, & immigrants was key for the "Court the Koch Bought".

@Npars01 @KentNelson But they're busy passing these horrid things into law and the state courts have no term limits in many of these places. These white judges will not overturn anything and will use as "precedent". I wish I was more hopeful but can't find any reason to be. I get the gerrymandering, but it will not be easy to unwind regardless of the great work of people like Marc Elias. Don't even get me started on the USSC, they're all in on what the south is doing.

@Npars01 @KentNelson I would but I live in CA, we'll likely be our own country fairly soon. I'm glad Texas is at least trying. A very messy, uphill battle. With the attacks on women, librarians, open carry, ..., it's too much, I won't go there again.

@DontMindMe @Npars01 @KentNelson CA is the economic engine of the country and puts most of the money into the federal system. The south states are all taker states, they take far more than they contribute, or to use a term they hate, socialism. I don't want to support people like that. It's gonna be a mess.
