       @Meandres well, major conferences like USENIX are mostly focused on cloud/datacenter usecases lately...R&D at companies is split between cloud/datacenter and embedded/IoT...I guess other than that it's just hobbyists left, like Drew DeVault working on Helios...

       @wolf480pl this is what I'm seeing yes. Its kinda sad. Recently one of my teachers was finding it sad that the OS research community didn't embrace the subject of more exotic environment like uxn, plan9, etc... I feel like I cannot agree more.
