@stux ThePirateBay coupled with Jellyfin for the win!!!actually, I buy a load of DVDs (honest!), rip them, import into Jellyfin, then store the physical disks safely and watch my media via my own media service - who needs netflix!? :-)

@stux total nonsense. I am currently sharing netflix account with another person rn, and the only reason I use Netflix is just convenience. If they ever do it, my answer is simple: cancel account, and start streaming from the computer!

@MagicLike @stux Ah yeah, I don't do any 4K or even FullHD - my eyes aren't good enough for it to offer any benefit. 720p is fine for me so it runs gloriously well on a 4 core 2GHz cpu with 8GB memory old server running numerous other services as well (the world doesn't need 4k 😛)

@paul @stux Yeah, but I plan to watch stuff over the TV or over my HiDPI Laptop screen, where I can clearly see the difference between HD/FullHD/WHQD and maybe 4k, also I'd like to watch somecstuff in HDR. - But it would be interesting to know if it works...

@stux If they force me to stop paying for my parent's access then I will stop paying for my parents access.Back down to Basic.My parents will not start trusting the internet with their credit card numbers.If I'm only paying for myself, then there's little reason to not switch around all these streaming services every few months to get the best of each.I reckon it'll end up with Netflix getting about 30 quid a year from me instead of more like 250.

@stux My reaction is, “Meh.” Netflix’s content has really tanked in the past 5 years. Stranger Things is the only thing keeping them propped up. I could live without Netflix if I wasn’t getting it for free with my T-Mobile plan.

@stux does anybody have some kind of expiry script, maybe runs ever week/month and offers you the option to prune/delete your watched, downloaded shows? Otherwise your media library will just continue to grow. Just a thought.

@stux I unsubscribed from #Netflix when they announced end of sharing accounts. There are enough quality streaming services to replace them, so I won't suscribe again. Also, Mr. Torrent is still a good friend. 🏴☠️

@stux I wish the movie/tv industry took a similar approach to the music industry, one subscription - all access. Torrents will be getting a lot more attention in the future. Granted, the way music is handled isn't perfect.

@stux I wrote an extensive piece once about piracy for college. It wasn't pro-piracy as much as it was against anti-piracy rhetoric. It was a rational view of consequences of piracy. I wonder if I could find it again 🤔 . (I tried rewriting it again, but it wasn't as good. Lacked all my sources XD)
