Been thinking for quite awhile now as Windows gets more and more prickly of installing Linux and it seems scary but ultimately rewarding and kind of excitingAnd then tonight started thinking for the first time about installing LineageOS as Android gets more prickly, and *this* thought seems to lead to nothing but a dismal, interminable abyss of pain and misery

And like, I'm sure LineageOS *itself* is fine, but getting my phone to recognize it, getting Google Play to install on it, or struggling with weird hacks to not lose the Sony camera app in the bargain or keep this phone's already-buggy baseband from getting worse… I forsee nightmare unending

@mcc I've been using LineageOS on the Poco X3 Pro for about a year, and it hasn't skipped a beat. You're right about the camera app, but OpenCamer la is pretty good. Also, you can use Aurora Store as an alternative front end for the Play Store. I have zero Google apps on my phone and regret nothing. Yes there are a few gotchas like firebase notifications. But it's still worth a shot if you're feeling frisky.
