I do not recommend playing Divinity: Original Sin.Not because it's bad, but because after playing it, every *other* RPG will look half-assed.

@wolf480pl Out of curiosity, have you tried Disco Elysium (I haven't but I only heard very, very good things about it)?

@pony hmm ok, I guess there are many valid reasons to not like it, eg. bot everyone enjoys turn-based combat. But for me, it felt very polished. The controls were very reliable (mostly due to topdow/mouse pointer but still), order of quests was unambiguous, and the pacing was good. The dialogues were also good, and when there was a decision to make, it was clear what each option means, and how it fits with the character you're playing / your past decisions.

@wolf480pl i played pathfinder kingmaker and pillars of eternity 2 shortly after divinity and i'd rate divinity as the game i definitely enjoyed the least from the three, the story quickly became somewhat confusing and unrelatable (while both pathfinder and pillars had interesting questing through the entire story), way too meta and centered about game lore, i don't really remember any other characters from divinity, while i absolutely do remember all my party members in pahtfinder and most from PoE2, i also much more enjoyed the 'traditional' rt-with-pause combat and faux d&d centric mechanics of the other two games

@wolf480pl i think a lot of people switched to turn based alternative they, for some reason, introduced in both pathfinder and poe (either on launch or in a later patch)

@wolf480pl after real playing DnD I can’t stand to play any RPG: all of them fee subpar and boring. I tried every big enough game, all of them just lack freedom and details.

@alexcleac after playing a tabletop RPG with a custom system designed by the GM specifically to match the world and the story he's trying to tell, with all rolls being done by the GM, I can't stand D&D anymore. It feels overcomplicated, amd the combat maths breaks immersion and detracts from roleplaying.
