Gmail creator says ChatGPT will destroy Google's business in two years https://interestingengineering.com/innovation/chatgpt-destroy-googles-business-two-years>Although ChatGPT is a revolutionary product, Google is also aware of threats from A.I. to its own business and could be working to protect its revenues.

@iamdtms @tanner Nothing like a reddit or stackoverflow thread to discuss the merits and cons of different blocks of code from people with experience using the blocks. ChatGPT is going to give you 1 answer, and it'll become the only answer, right or wrong, efficient or not - because people will stop recognizing that it could be better and not bother asking for another solution. Now if google could do a chatgpt answer + a web search response, sadly, result would be the same, no alternatives used.

@iamdtms @tanner Chatgpt responses are going to need a "scoring system" of "fact, opinion, false", "# of alternative solutions/answers", "related topics", "validation/disambiguation/refuting sources", etc. In my Colony One novel, I wrote in a fact-checking team - and I smirked wondering how many people would think about exactly what that implementation would need and what it would mean in terms of speed and content. Google could certainly do the rating system, evaluating chatgpt responses.
