@kairyssdal My preference would be for them to say, “the appropriations is a more recent act of Congress and is set above revenue, so implies an authorization to borrow thus mooting the debt ceiling.” I don’t think the White House will do that. I think they’ll say the debt ceiling must be obeyed and prioritize debt payments and required spending. My general feeling is that Democrats will jettison social spending at the drop of a hat, but simply need an excuse to cover.it.

@kairyssdal The credit worthiness is not on the executive branch. That branch cannot raise the debt ceiling. Therefore, the onus is on congress.
