A man secretly donated money to a pharmacy so his neighbors could afford medicine. We DESPERATELY need Medicare for All. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/25/us/alabama-pharmacy-donor.html #healthcare #generosity

@Createzilla No, we need to stop subsidizing pharmaceutical companies, and stop giving them special treatment via the government. We need to move to a more holistic model of healthcare and move away from the corrupted insurance model we currently have. More government is not the solution, it's the problem. Real generosity starts and stops with the individual.

@chillanarchist01 No reason why all of this can't be part of a government-lead solution. Vote in the right people.

@Createzilla There is every reason why it shouldn't be part of a government lead solution. Government-lead "solutions" are what brought us to this point in the first place. But sure, we'll just "vote in the right people" this time, because we've been able to do it at any time in the history of government. Good luck with that.

@chillanarchist01 And sadly, that's the problem with either solution: it's dependent on individuals to make the decent choice in creating a civil society that benefits all. If you have a solution beyond government, I'm all for it, baby.

@Createzilla I just gave you my solution. If you can't trust individuals to make choices you want them to make, what makes you think that as a collective group, they'll do any better? The problem here is with the expectation, not necessarily with the outcome.
