@killyourfm Remember the scene where the front door swings open, and when Joel goes to check he sees Ellie sitting in the dining room?My suspicion is that they're going to undermine one of the best love stories in TV history with a "surprise! He's not actually dead!" towards the en of the season.Praying I'm wrong on this though

@ricard I think it was vital for the main storyline. Not only did Bill + Frank's story reinforce the story's world themes of finding love in a crumbling world, but it all led to that very moving letter that finally convinces Joel to be more than a casual armed escort for Ellie. To actually care, and to protect her. It also allowed them to get the truck, which ultimately does allow the story to progress in the game (so they can go out west).
