One of the things that doesn't get talked about as much with late transition is that while yes, you are starting to heal by finally being able to be more yourself, it is like starting a new job and immediately being buried under technical debt.You inherit the mess that is left from a life wasted because you struggled to see a future for yourself - "What's the point of stressing out over XYZ? The end result is, yeah, you have a new will to live, but trying to do that in the face of everything old you never thought they'd have to confront is still waiting, and it's just too much.This is where I'm at. Back to feeling like that end is inevitable, because what can I do? There's too many things to fix. Too many deadlines, too many shoes waiting to drop.Am I disassociating? Is that what's going on? Is it conflict avoidance?

I worry about the people that are under threat of these anti-trans laws that will force them to delay or outright make it impossible for them to get the care they need, that they'll just end up in this same boat somehow.Haven't we done this shit too many times? With immigrants, with black people with gay and lesbian people - How many times will we rehash the same argument of "does *this* segment of the population deserve human dignity?"

I'm getting off track here, but I promise, this is all connected.It took me 37 years to figure out I was trans, that there was a name for what was wrong with me - THAT THERE WAS A WAY TO **LIVE**.What it took for me to come to that realization was information. *real* trans people being visible, their stories and experiences that I would find so much in common with, capable of being seen and heard.This is what scares me so much.(continued)

The objective of the anti-trans people is to outright eradicate and erase trans people. By cutting out access, by silencing voices and forcing people to hide.I only found my community by chance. A random meme that lead me down a rabbit hole and into the light of day I never thought I'd see.You don't prevent kids from 'becoming' trans by limiting their access or exposure to trans lives - You just set them up for a miserable life that is hardly worth living, and has no future.(cntd)
