He's been talking about making Twitter the Western equivalent of Weibo/Alipay/whatever the F#$@ they use today in China, TikTokPay or whatever. This could be an early step toward that.Point taken though. We've seen what a huge success ApplePay has been.

Paypal was great in the aughts as a solution to the mess that online payments and transfers at the time, but your points in current day are 100% fair. They functionally formed a monopoly over online payments and abuse the hell out of it now (outside of, and also in conjunction with, the big processors).My memory is x dot com (elon's company) was an online bank with some method of online transfers, but it was confity (or whatever they merged with) that really had the easy transfers down. That ultimately made paypal successful. How much Elon had to do with that (or any of his companies), ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
