       Hot take, all these years later I still prefer the UI from MacOS 9 than OS X or macOS. What I don't miss is juggling extensions. That and the randomness of the whole OS deciding to lock up for no apparent reason at all. I desire a modern Rhapsody.

       @xsan64 @Recta_Pete I just tried installing Windows NT 3.51 Server the other day. The newest of the NTs that has 3.1x style UI.And you know what? Important stuff is there, but complex bloat isn't. Disk Management looks fun, Service Management, network configuration, ...It has long filenames support, NTFS, and even has a pre-Win95 version of Win32 API, meaning some (mildly) crazy folks got UT99 to run on an OS that looks like 3.1x.And despite all the problems in 3.1x usability... There's something calming about an OS that is so lightweight and basic and full of contrasts and black lines around white or brightly-colored rectangles.Still, I miss Mac OS 9 or, even better, System 7.5.3. Something basic changed between 7.5.3 and 8.x UIs and I can't articulate what.
