@simon I introduced #Datasette to a neighbour this evening and he was over the moon. He has a cool project but I've been sworn to secrecy. I'll spill the beans once the embargo is lifted.

@simon He really liked the cluster map plugin, but then he was like 'I want to show the boundaries of these administrative units'. I think that the plugin uses Leaflet.markercluster under the hood which accepts polygonOptions. Am I right in thinking that the plugin doesn't use it as an option? If so I am half tempted to have a stab at adding it to the plugin.

@Sandbagger there's a separate plugin that can do that: https://datasette.io/plugins/datasette-geojson-mapI wrote some nores on using that here - you don't need to use SpatiaLite though, retuning a geometry column with regular GeoJSON works fine too

@Sandbagger this tutorial is also relevant - includes an example of displaying timezone and country borders https://datasette.io/tutorials/spatialite

@simon I am being queried for options for hosting. Personally, I like fly.io (they have a great CLI) and I see here that you have another great plugin https://github.com/simonw/datasette-publish-flyTo your knowledge, the free tier should be able to accommodate an app consisting of no more than 4000 records right?

@Sandbagger the Fly free tier should handle up to 10,000,000 records quite happily, provided each record isn't too largeAlso worth considering Vercel - they have a good free tier which works for databases up to 50MB
