That's how everything works. I'm not telling people to surrender something to the ATF. I'm telling them to not get themselves in trouble, to pay attention to what the options are, and wait it out because it will probably be overturned the same way the bumpstock ban was. You don't have to surrender your gun to the ATF, you don't have to surrender the part to the ATF. Some braces aren't even being classified as a buttstock. I am simply telling people to look into this and make an informed decision in order to keep themselves out of trouble. I don't understand how anyone could think that's a bad thing.

You can't circumvent laws that are built in a day and age, where the lawmakers know it's going to be enforced selectively. Because then, they'll just keep the laws vague, numerous, and conflicting enough to ensure that any decision they make on a case by case basis goes by the letter of it. When laws are designed in that way, the only way stop the tyranny behind it, is to either break them or form a coalition (such as in Illinois) to simply not enforce the laws in question. You will not be able to "work around" any roadblocks the establishment tries to push, from this point moving forward. Because those laws aren't designed to allow for workarounds. They're designed to fuck you, no matter what you do.
