Prototype of a MicroSD extension holder for the #Macintosh #LCII & #LCIII.Disregard the color, I need to get the proper RAL filament. To my surprise the clip holds perfectly inside the FDD bracket clip cutout and seems to be strong enough. The SD extender fits inside as well…#Mac68k #MacLC #PizzaBox #RetroComputing #3DPrinting

The model has options for full-size SD and Micro-SD, and clips for both the LC-II/III and the old LC (or left side of other LCs) which has a smaller hole to clip into. Now, I really need to split the design in two parts, as I really don't fancy taking out the support from inside… 😅

Second attempt: Split into two parts, and try a dovetail-like junction. The SD holder fits perfectly (I forgot some margin last time), but the junction thingy doesn't stick.

t holds just fine, a little wobble though, but that can probably be fixed with some tape on the top side if needed. The two parts hold just enough, though assembling them several times likely loosens the grip. But it's possible to put a screw or a bit of filament in the hole to stick them in place.

@mmu_man I was trying to recall where I saw that bump and lines on picture 4 as I was convinced I knew what it was......then I remembered! Is it an Apple Machintosh LC or Performa, like a 475?The Performa 475 with an external CDROM was my first Apple machine. I loved it. I upgraded it to 32MB RAM and had a 1GB SCSI hard disk in it which were monster specs back in 1995.

The ribbon cable fits fine in the opposite opening, on LC-II and LC-III. For the LC you'd have to pass through the speaker grill, and it's quite tight, but it's doable.

I tried sanding the back of the last unit to see how it looks… Not bad but then it's more matte than the actual LC case, so not necessarily any better. The top part I actually also heated a bit and pressed against the gross sand-paper to try texturing it… Not as nice as I thought it'd look. Also it deformed it quite much, so you'd have to be careful.
