They aren't usually great but I generally think the cinematic and direction style has a lot of potential for good film making.Blair Witch in particular does a very good job of building an atmosphere with basically no budget but kind fails when it comes to having a cleanly written narrative. Of course a good atmosphere is arguably more important than a good story when it comes to a horror film.
