@freepatriot Here in Colorado it is only a secondary violation so they can not pull you over for it...When I lived in Iowa a State Trooper gave me a seat belt ticket after pulling me over for speeding. I moved over to the shoulder and was slowing down and already almost stopped when I unbuckled my belt so that I could grab my wallet. When I explained to him what happened and why my belt was not on, he said "Tell it to the judge". What a pinhead.I am a delivery driver and I always buckle up.

@freepatriot Up until that time I believed in seat belt laws. Then I saw that it was just another reason to siphon money out of the population. I had just driven 40 miles with my seat belt on yet I still got a ticket because I was in a bit of a hurry and knew that the cop was going to ask to see my license.

@coonmanxmd @freepatriot In most states I've seen, you are required to have your seatbelt on any time that the keys are in the ignition. So if you're in that situation, take the keys out before the cop gets there. Otherwise, yeah, they love to tack that one on.
