#infosec #Hackers often use this clever trick to take you to #phishing sites — can you spot it?These #spoofed URLs look quite similar to legitimate ones at first glance. @hackdefendr #Clickbaiters often use this clever trick to trick you into clicking a link, can you spot it?It's called "hacksploitation" and relies on calling cybercriminals "hackers".🤯 🤔

@rysiek Cybercriminals are still hackers, they are just wearing black hats. Intelligent #infosec people know the difference.

@hackdefendr @rysiek Not all cybercriminals are hackers. Few hackers are cybercriminals. You are conflating terms.Experts shouldn't conflate terms, lest they mis-inform their readers.

@hackdefendr and some bank robbers are still drivers. Yet you would not write "Drivers robbed a bank" just because of that, now would you?

@hackdefendr I think there is this huge community of hackers who have nothing to do with being cybercriminals, and using the term "hacker" whenever you mean "cybercriminal" is painting the whole creative, wonderful community with a specific brush, just because you can't be bothered to use a more specific term.Like, you know, "cybercriminal". Or "attacker". Or "threat actor". Plenty to choose from.
