Lol, just did a podcast with Mumkey and missed a call from the auto shop while I was doing so.Called em back and they told me they found chunks of the engine in the oil pan and the car is now a doorstop that I paid 3 months wages for.24 hours of vehicle and now I'm gonna not have anything to drive to work. Might really have to quit the job now

@bluj162 nope, as soon as I signed the paperwork and drove away, it was N O R E F U N D SAnd 100 miles later I have a pile of scrap.However, considering it is still a spotless newer vehicle with many actual new components already, I'm gonna shop around about an engine replacement. It's gonna really wipe my savings out so I'll have to live with auntie another year probably but it's about all I can do right now. I need a vehicle to be able to work, so I can afford a vehicle to get to work.

@FelonyCommitter @bluj162 if it s a newer vehicle and already needs an engine replacement it's been rode hard and put away wet, might be better to cut your losses than to invest that money because there could be transmission or other misc structural issues (which you cant legally fix)

@FelonyCommitter @bluj162 If you're handy with tools look around local junkyards. Look for something that was wrecked so you know it was running when it was junked and worth examining for any issues. You'd need to pull it yourself but (in my area anyways) a complete engine from picknpull is ~$200.

@FelonyCommitter @bluj162 What a mess. Just so I read right, you bought a vehicle off a dealership lot, drove it maybe 100 miles and the motor shat the bed? A dealership tried to fuck my friend (at the time) over with a lemon, situation met the qualifications for fraud. Was able to get the down payment back and the loan stopped. Not my place to tell you what to do but it doesn't hurt to look into the matter for yourself.

If the car you bought was sold under false pretenses (they knew there were major problems with it, and hid them to sell it for more than it was worth), then you are the victim of fraud. It’s the same as if you bought a house; the seller is obligated to be honest about the condition, and you have standing to sue if they lied. For minor lies, maybe you don’t care. For shit like this though…That these problems cropped up so soon after you bought it suggests that the sellers were well aware of the problems, and hid them. That is textbook fraud, and you are fully in your right to have the people that robbed you pay for it.Do you have a copy of the craigslist ad? What problems with the car were disclosed to you when you bought it?
