The state of Wisconsin was created from Wisconsin Territory on May 29, 1848, with 28 counties.There are now 72 counties in Wisconsin. I think this continued secession, and a provincial attitude, has helped create a great place to live. Let's hope we see even more Wisconsin counties in the future.
