@davekarpf in fairness - it's been like that for a long time, e.g. if you check out posts from years ago with videos (which always had view counts), even accounts with 1m+ followers had videos with little views. People followed too many accounts to actually view the content, so they had to introduce an algorithm to filter down content - the net effect being, unless you're being super spicy, you don't get views. My account there has ~145k followers and I'd say less than 5% were ever active.

@davekarpf The fact that Mr Musk has removed the chronological timeline completely allows the platform to serve up old content in an opaque fashion and hiding any signs it's a ghost town.All my friends stopped posting there years ago, and I don't think it's anywhere near as relevant as others might have you believe.

@GossiTheDog @davekarpf Well, wouldn't be a surprise that videos would get even less views in the first place because they require interaction (or at least they used to…).And yeah, I think most people just stay on twitter for few minutes/hours and hopefully they don't show which hours because otherwise the platform would drown over (and given recent evens likely have regular outages).

@saskboy pretty sure my following list is still chrono order. the top tweets are always from a few seconds ago (or the last tweet in the thread was posted incredibly recently, but it starts with the first tweet in that same thread). just did a quick test and the top 4 posts were all from the past minute.
