I never know how to feel about this genre of content where mothers show a realistic depiction of what every day motherhood is like because on one hand I think it's great for making other mothers not feel alone in what we go through, and it puts to rest the nonsense that being a homemaker isn't real work and is some kind of slothful luxury life that is nothing compared to being a career woman to restBut on the other hand I don't want women without children to be put off motherhood by the harsh realities and the hardship of it depicted, since I know a romantacisation of that life helps motivate women to start it. And at the end of the day my priority is white birth ratesDo let me know your thoughts as I'm conflicted

@TheVeryLutheranHousewife while I may be a single guy, my opinion is that a sober understanding of what motherhood entails is good for women, so that they can have an understanding of things and not get burnt out because of any of their fantastical expectations weren't met. This as well as juxtaposing Motherhood with the ills of corporate life.

@TheVeryLutheranHousewife I mean it looks like a full time job, which is what it is. This video gels well with the @nugger and @anime_outdoor thread about how multigenerational, multifamily homes alleviate this problem

@AnimeTradCath @TheVeryLutheranHousewife It's good as a man to look at this and understand the responsibility you're taking on, and to help her with it.

@AnimeTradCath This is a good idea. The juxtaposition of the stressed and nonstop work life that is full of love and importance VS passing the time in an office and going home to nothing. And also pushing the method that self sacrifice is a good thing and life isn't meant to be easy all the time

@johnbudd1350 @TheVeryLutheranHousewife this is even more true sense with the destruction of our communities, it's even more difficult to raise a child with doing everything on your own

@TheVeryLutheranHousewife I think that the juxtaposition is quite good because even though being a Mother requires hard work, the rewards are much more tangible and upfront for a woman than "corporate projections show that sales are up 22% from last quarter".

@TheVeryLutheranHousewife depicting self sacrifice in general is a good thing, and is sorely needed especially in this day and age. Especially for both Men and Women

@TheVeryLutheranHousewife >just shut your bedroom door I guess. Quietly.>*Slams door*This was so relatable it actually made me laugh out loud. My wife and I have talked about how it feels good to see other families in public or media dealing with normal parenting struggles. It's a reminder that the challenges we sometimes deal with are normal and okay. This is especially helpful if you have any families in your life with seemingly "perfect" kids.

@TheVeryLutheranHousewife I understand the conflict. I don't see anything inherently negative about this sort of video. I'm viewing it through the lense of "most women are being told motherhood is somehow both difficult and boring" anyway. So if a given woman found this video to reinforce the idea that motherhood is difficult/boring, it hasn't taught them that idea. It simply hasn't changed their mind(s).Caring for 3+ small kids is also far more challenging than 1 or 2.

@TheVeryLutheranHousewife That many little ones at once? Where's her parents? My wife has me here to help because I'm a shout away and her parents are a 30 second drive away if she calls. This is very helpful.
