So. Nun habe ich mir doch echt eine Domain für eine Mastodon Instanz registriert. Werde also wohl bald umziehen. Nun? Mastodon.host oder habt Ihr sonst einen guten Tipp? Ich glaube mein normaler Hoster #Cyon bietet diesen Service nicht an 🤣

@wyssdaniel@swiss.social @pallenberg@mastodon.social wieso fällt die weg? die federated TL enthält alle public posts, die deine instanz sieht, und zwar auch von accounts, denen du nicht folgst, oder verstehe ich da was falsch?

@wyssdaniel Mein Tipp: eine Instanz bei Hetzner (mit automatischem Backup) und selbst installieren. Ist Pippi einfach und kostet wesentlich weniger für mehr Power.

@puniko Ziel ist es unter meiner Domain eine eigene Instanz zu haben - die praktisch nur ich nutze. So wie ich das verstehe sind unter «Trending» und «Fedarated» dann nur jene drin, denen ich folge. @pallenberg

@wyssdaniel@swiss.social @pallenberg@mastodon.social naja, weiss nicht genau wie masto das tuddelt. aber bei akkoma oder misskey zb ists so, dass in der federated TL alles landet was public ist und von instanzen kommt, mit denen du föderierst (also bei denen du mindestens einem account folgst). wenn du beispielsweise person X (und nur X) auf swisssoc folgst, landen alle public posts von swisssoc in der federated TL.

@Jain@blob.cat @pallenberg@mastodon.social @wyssdaniel@swiss.social ne, home schliesst unlisted und FO mit ein. wogegen federated so alles was public ist und zu deiner instanz föderiert anzeigt. ist schon ein unterschied, vor allem, wenn du einer person auf einer grösseren instanz folgst

@wyssdaniel @puniko @pallenberg nicht ganz - ich habe meine eigene Instanz, dich nur ich nutze, und unter "Federated" sehe ich auch Posts von Leuten, denen ich nicht folge.("These are the most recent public posts from people on this and other servers of the decentralized network that this server knows about.")
