uhhhh, this was weird. anybody out there on fedi that is familiar with aviation, thoughts pls.When I was leaving work, I saw what *looked* like six commercial airliners flying in a sort of formation.Seemed really odd??

@Russell@plush.city terrific trafficprobably something like they were all in a holding pattern until a storm front did a thing so now they're just cruising in the "fast" lane not letting each other pass đź’˘aviation has corridors rather than lanes, but yeah. my guess is they were ordered to hold and recently released from it (thus, the tight grouping)

@Russell@plush.city yeah maybe not near you but look an hour downrange of them. if that is what happened, though, there's no telling the reason for a mere mortal like meif you could listen on the guard frequency they might have been chatting about it
