@itnewsbot Hmmm - manufacturers are sad - yes, yes a great many of them are - VERY.1: I avoid WiFi like the plague.2: I only use it whene tethering to MY cellular devices, at home, IF wither phone or tablet is low on data (unlikely) or one is playing up and I want to dowload a game to the (4K) tablet - my favourites usually exceed 1Gb with device specific files.3: MY Android TV has no camera or microphone and is connected to the Web via ethernet - easy to pull the plug; bad enough i'm connected to Google, but no worse than tablet or phone (other than being stuck on android 11 not 13 like the others).Who the hell do they think they are?We pay - over the top - for UNrepairable devices AND THEN they expect us to pay for them to spy on us to obtain profitable data?ALL the "features" can be done by phone apps; just protect your privacy as best you can and become intimately familiar with settings AND PAY FOR device security!

@itnewsbot If I ever bought a "smart" TV, before I brought it into the house I would take it to a TV repairman and give it a lobotomy to make sure it can't access the Internet, and disable the camera and mic if it has one.
