@shadowfacts the only thing that bothers me in Tusker is that I can’t see toots boosts, favs and replies numbers unless I open the post (just like you see in this screenshot taken from another client). Is there any plan to add this in the future? Thanks

@shadowfacts Thanks for the reply. Okay this may have changed as I've been dipping in and out of apps and a lot have ended up being closed on the iPhone automatically. But when reading through a timeline I tend to miss the 'Load More' prompts and ended up jumping hours of Toots until I scroll back and hit the prompt. So we have an option to automatically load more and not have the prompts?The other was to choose the colour of the load more / open hidden content markers? Does that make sense?

@t3kk Gotcha. Changing the accent color is possible as of fairly recently (Preferences -> Appearance -> Accent Color).The timeline gap behavior is somewhat more complicated, and I've gone through several iterations of how it works. There's a fine balance to be had between making scrolling back through the timeline seamless and making sure what's below the gap is still accessible.If the 'Load More' gap is filled in automatically as you scroll back, whatever is below it becomes inaccessible—which is a problem if you didn't mean to scroll up above it. Right now, if you tap the floating 'Jump to Present' button when it appears, the gap and everything below will be removed from the timeline, and scrolling back will load posts automatically.I'm wary about adding preferences to change the behavior here, because it's already complicated enough without introducing more edge cases.

@shadowfacts I'm with you, I had changed the accent colour already I'd forgotten that. What may be useful though is a separate colour for the 'Load More' prompt, maybe put it in red so it's more visible and doesn't hide amongst the CW buttons? Or for the CW warning reveal buttons make them coloured on the edges only and not a full filled button so they can be differentiated when scrolling?The other add would be an unread activity count on that tab.Hopefully that makes sense?

@antijingoist Grouping isn't based on time, it's based on order. So if you have a bunch of favs/reblogs of the same post in a row, they'll be grouped into two cells. Non-groupable notifications (mentions, etc.) function as barriers and notifs aren't grouped across barriers to try and preserve chronological order

@Kosikutioner heh, I wondered if anyone would notice that. it's because yellow is used to indicate the 'performed' state for the favorite and boost buttons, so the accent color being yellow would make the states indistinguishableat some point, I'll come up with a better way of indicating that, and yellow will be an accent color option, but it's not a high priority

@shadowfacts Is toggling “notify on new posts” for followed users, and more importantly displaying these notifications in the Notifications tab, on your near-term roadmap? Those are the blockers from me using Tusker at the moment.

@sentience if you have notifications for a particular account enabled on the web UI, those notifications should already be displayed in Tusker. adding an action to toggle notifications is on the roadmap

@gruber @shadowfacts I’ve been using the TestFlight version for weeks, along with @ivory and @icecubesapp. I find Tusker’s pinned hashtag searches a wonderful feature. I was surprised you don’t have In App Purchases. Is there any other way to support you? BTW, I just realized the icon depicts an elephant’s tusks. 🤦🏻♂️😜. Thanks for your work!

@deancommasteven ah, I think I see what's happening. there aren't enough new posts to show the 'Jump to Present' button, so they're also not getting inserted into the timeline. this should be fixed in the next release; thanks for the report

@lucacorbucci hmm, on iOS you could use the system control to adjust the font size for a single app, but it seems like that doesn't exist on macOS. I'll investigate if this is reasonably doable on the Mac, but I make no promises

@shadowfacts best feature for me is the timeline handling. It keeps both the personal and local timeline so I don't miss a post. Every other client I tried saves only one position or none at all.

@vggonz that is the intended behavior; you can't directly interact with posts from other instances without first going through your instance (essentially copy/paste the URL of the post into the search field). in the future, there will be an "open as" action to resolve the remote post through your own instance

@Bluedonkey I do, and I have observed the issue too. It's specific to mastodon.social, and I'm fairly confident the underlying problem is that mastodon's database replication is too slowThe next update—hopefully in the next day or two—will have some workarounds to try and address this
