@stux it's getting worse here too. For some reason people want an SUV, even for electric cars, which makes no sense at all. They need a bigger battery pack, yet only have the range of a smaller model. 😔

@stux I think the optimum vehicle atm is the plug-in hybrid. Perfect transition car if you want to move from gas or electric.I don't particularly care about either but I do know that in some areas electric charging is cheaper than gas.

@stux I don’t know here I. Germany I see a lot of SUVs from Kia, Toyota, Nissan and Mercedes, Audi on the streets and those are not much smaller than a Pick Up Truck shown in the picture

@stux Well, that's good for you I guess. Try public transport in most of the US outside of cities - it's a complete nightmare. When I came here that's one of the first things I noticed... no car - no chance. And there are So. Many. Cars. And car dealers.

@stux for you it's easy because 1) you are young 2) you don't have deambulation problems 3) you live in a country with good public transports and infrastructures for bikes. Imagine being an unsteady elder living in a rural area, with no public transport available, trying to go get some groceries. @1nd33d

@stux yeaaaahhhh. About a year ago I was trying to get a even smaller cart. One of the Smart cars. Found out that they stopped making them in the USA. VERY frustrating. It’s all frustrating that the city of #Seatle is just NOW building a light rail system. /End_Rant

@stux USian obsession with big trucks is obscene. I only like cars because I used to drag race and going fast is my only adrenaline boost. In Germany, driving my little Mini JCW on the autobahn was 🔥but I can go nearly that fast here. And I haven’t found a nearby track yet. Oh well. All that said, I give up my Mini in a heartbeat for decent, reliable public transport. There’s no such thing in non-urban US. And in some cases, not even *in* urban US. Have any space for me to move in? 😉
