       I should reinstall a personal fedi server. I miss going feral and being brutally honest on the TL, but on I don't feel safe to do it if I don't control the infrastructure and/or it is linked to my real name in any capacity

       @kirrepic in theory yeah, but in practice I want the ability to nuke everything.Like I've had a lot of personal instances over the years but nuking them due to my incompetence was a good idea considering what I was writing.

       @marsxyz @kirrepic hence the point of having an online identity that’s disjoint as much as possible from your civil name.FWIW mastodon has the “remove old toots” feature, for what it’s worth—nothing if your attack model is being wanted by the NSA, but if you just want to avoid randos exhuming your 10-year-old cringe posts, posting in follower-only and deleting old toots should be enough.Also yeah never got the librist urge to host their own infrastructure, I prefer being one someone else’s, who I trust more than me to do security upgrades
