Heck yeah, entire server rack only draws like 100W. Gotta love ARM

And honestly, I'm pretty sure 20W of that is the HP Microserver for storage. The 8 Pis and the network equipment draw like 80W afaik

@concat One of those stackable Pi towers. I then attached power supplies to the top and bottom, and placed them horizontally on a shelf. Barely fits in 2U

@duponin Just plug it in and connect it to WiFi.Cloud is off by default and it has it's own web ui where you can do stuff like set up webhooks, use their REST API or connect it to your own MQTT broker. In my case Home Assistant has an integration to connect directly to them.

@quad okayI'd prefer having something Zigbee, but that's pretty much the same overall spiritthanks

@duponin I specifically didn't want zigbee. As my home assistant is a container on a cluster that moves around freely, there's no easy way to plug a ConBee into it. I'd rather not trust one of those cloud gateways tricked into working with home assistant either

@quad my home-assistant is cursed (container in a VM) but I wish having only WiFi for as much things as possible(home WiFi being terrible might be a reason why)I'll soon remove it from a VManyway, our both decisions are valid and motivated :bunsmile2:

@duponin Mine is a container that freely hops around across 8 Raspberry Pis lol

@quad that's what I understood lolwell, stick it to a host  or have a robot to change your conbee host

@quad what are you using to accomplish that? Kubernetes? I've got a TuringPi setup with not much running on it. I'd love to get things setup to not depend on specific machines/ips running

@frostyfrog It's just an LXD cluster. My containers are stateful. They can move around and stuff, but act more like VMs than a containerized app.I'm not a fan of docker being used as a glorified package manager

@imgoingto It’s just an LXD cluster made up of eight Raspberry Pi 4s. They replaced a cluster made of three x86 machines.
