KDE Plasma was the first desktop environment I used on Linux and I may switch back to it soon.

@calculsoberic It's what I use. Gn*me was ruined years ago by its own choice. If it were not for my KDE fondness I'd probably just run Fluxbox and no DE. The main difficulty in that is having to maintain menus by some means.

@chemoelectric oh, you have to do it manually? I've never tried Fluxbox

@calculsoberic For a long time I used Fluxbox and ROX Pinboard together. Many years ago. There was no Plasma then, though there was a KDE.(BTW I only switched from KDE4 to Plasma, which was still half done, because KDE4 ran extremely poorly when I got TOO MUCH memory for it!)

@chemoelectric since when does *too much* memory make it run worse? :flan_laugh: such irony

@calculsoberic The system starts up a lot more quickly if you just run a window manager and not all those daemons and "bus" stuff.

@calculsoberic I'm having a grand time with it. But i am very patient with bugs and usually go bleeding edge. I realize not everyone shares my patience xD

@calculsoberic ooh that's nice! I actually quite like it, only wish it was a little lighter on resources on my old computer haha
