@shaman that is mainly TXX and most of them from the #Soviet era, even if #Russia has loads of tanks, but most of them are just rusty scrap, that's why they are taking tanks from #Belarus

@shaman @deirdresm about 10 years ago the USA Army told Congress it has plenty of tanks and doesn't want any more. Congress bought another bunch anyway. A lot of them are stored in Nevada desert near-ish to Reno.Probably in better condition than the bazillions of Russian tanks that are alleged.

@shaman It's funny that Greece made the list and Germany did not. The other day I was discussing this with my greek colleague and he was like "We have a defense budget of 5 billion €s and like 800 Leopard 2 tanks. Germany spends 50 billion €s and you have difficulties finding 12 Leos for Ukraine? What are you even DOING with all that money?". That's a damn good question...

@shaman it makes a strange calculation, it suggestion an easy win over Ukraine, but the disparity in capability, range and readiness and supply/logistics channels bring the equation back towards favouring Ukraine.

@shaman I suspect the number of Russian tanks is a tad smaller than the picture implies. Between the Ukrainians destruction of them and theft of parts. Estimates suggest they have many fewer now.
