I'd like to address this ridiculous question that TRAs bring out with tedious regularity whenever they're told to stay out of women's toilets."Do you think a sign will stop a rapist?"Yes, I do.Male predators don't want witnesses. Rapists don't rape women in front of people unless they are also rapists. Rapists rely on being unseen. If public toilets are a free for all, he will be unseen, because no-one will be surprised to see a man going into a gender-neutral toilet. If, however, a toilet is 'women only' it makes the rapist pause. What if someone sees him going in? What if someone challenges him? What if someone drags him out? What if someone calls the police? So yes, a sign saying 'Women Only' does make a difference and anyone who thinks otherwise is a liar, a fool, an abuser (all three?) Or simply doesn't care a damn about the safety of women.

@william a lot of public places that actually have security guards and cameras set up to make sure men don't go into the women's bathroom because it's such a horrible problem. That's why when you go down a hallway to a bathroom generally the men's bathroom is first and then the women's is further down. That way security can easily identify predators. But if any man is allowed to go in the women's bathroom or locker room then there's no point in even watching.
