#RakuLang Homebrew upgraded rakudo again (without my asking) which of course broke things.I have two questions: 1. how do i make this warning go away? "On macOS Perl6::Readline requires installing Readline via Homebrew"readline IS installed via homebrew (and i've tried installing rakudo-star afterwards) so following the instructions is not a valid answer. ;) 2. why do i have to install 3 packages (and their deps) with zef to make the REPL work? Shouldn't the repl work out of the box?

@masukomi 1. it's not readline... it's the raku readline interface...2. you don't have to install 3 packages, the repl works out of the box, but it's the readline things (up, down, ctrl-r, etc) that need readline installed.and, finallysave yourself some headaches and use https://rakubrew.org/

@massa I'll try rakubrew, but i swear to you, I've installed rakudo-star 3 or 4 times within the past 6 months on macOS now, and every single time the REPL has crashed and given me a message about needing a package, which i then install, rinse, and repeat until it finally has enough to be happy. And then it may or may not complain about readline. Term::termiosTerminal::ANSIParserand, i THINK, Text::MiscUtils::Layoutand maybe 1 other.

@massa if you're correct, and it's not readline, but the raku readline interface, then the error message REALLY needs to be changed because it's very explicitly telling me to install "Readline via Homebrew"

@massa [CORRECTION] it does not crash. It just spews out an ugly stack trace message every time you launch it. i uninstalled and reinstalled, then took a screenshot of the resulting attempts.

#RakuLang ... I ask, because after fixing all the missing dependencies in thee META6 I still can't get Dawa to build and that _seems_ like it might be the problem (or at least part of it). What's the recommended strategy / tool for inserting breakpoints these days. Is it just "Use Comma" ... because (nothing against Comma) that's not a great response, or one i want to pursue if i don't have to.

@masukomi@connectified.com @massa@bolha.us If these modules must be installed for correct Readline behaviour, they should be part of Rakudo Star. The whole point of it is that it bundles common stuff to make life easier for end-users.

@tyil @masukomi yeah, you're right, of course.Just `zef install Readline` should fix your problem.Anyway, I don't like rakudo-star very much exactly because when I create my modules I might forget the dependency, which would give out such obnoxious messages.

@massa@bolha.us @masukomi@connectified.com That hasn't been a very common issue for me, but a good release-check pipeline should keep that in check too I think.

@tyil (or `zef install Linenoise` -- which should be less problematic)
