       He isn't popular, he's a lolcow. In the early days of YT he could be considered as popular because he was one of a small number posting edgy gameplay of full games - split into 10 minute chunks due to site limitations and so resulting in high view numbers. Once better creators came along, he was dumped. Now he lives his life reminiscing about the good old days of YT, while spending 10s of thousands of his decent income on a WWE gacha game and blaming trolls for his decline in popularity. So yes, he is a talentless narcissist but he just managed to be in the right place at the right time to be successful enough to feed his ego

       The early years were the best - drunk out of his mind, recording content by pointing a camera at a TV, and generally failing at basic video game concepts - see the This Is How You Don't Play genre that sprung up, initiated by an ex-fan that he shit on (EvilAJ's TIHYDP metal gear solid 2, which was seminal, and is a great intro to his lolcow status)
