@2T2 I'd rather use Arch than Artix.

@2T2 Honestly what advantage does artix actually have. I've used gentoo and void in the past so I'm familiar with open-rc and runit. And honestly an initnsystem won't be enough to sell me on a project. And their website only says "hey we don't use systemd" as it's lone literal advantage.

@10leej not only that but if in the future some smart pants dev decides they have to push not only an init system but a single filesystem or a single network manager or certain kernel etc you would be more an more restricted and where you gonna jump from there if we don't prop projects like Artix Devuan, Void and couple of others?

@2T2 one thing it brings is some standardization, which is needed if we actually want desktop linux to actually see some popularity.

@dc @2T2 It's not called Arch, but if you ask on the arch forums there's apparently no one that actually runs Arch there.

@10leej Nope standardization would make hackers life even more easy. They will just need to hack 1 network manager or that infamous sysd and everybody who run that will fall victim. We don't need standardization we need diversity so if 1 thing break not everything gonna break but just a branch or a small part of a branch ;)
